A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck southern Haiti yesterday, knocking down buildings and power lines and inflicting what its ambassador to the United States called a catastrophe for the Western Hemisphere's poorest nation. The Presbyterian Church USA has mission personnel and partners in the region, and Lionel Derenoncourt (who works on the PCUSA staff and is a member of Beechmont Presbyterian Church) has family in Haiti. Please also pray for KT Ockels, whose father recently had a stroke. KT is also on the national staff and is chair of the presbytery’s Mission Unit (she is married to Lionel). Please pray for the people of Haiti, our mission personnel and partners and Lionel’s family.

I am part of a bowling league called the Gutter Gang. We are a mixed blind and
sighted league. Each team has two members who are blind and one spotter, who
is sighted. The spotter also bowls. The league meets every Wednesday at Tin
Pin Lanes near the Mall, St. Matthews. Each person pays individually. The cost
of the three weekly games is $8.00
Right now, the league is in danger of folding because we don't have enough
spotters. Other commitments come up or people get jobs and can no longer
participate.
If you could help us out, either as a regular spotter or as a sub, please call
me, Rev. Rick
Roderick at 423-8195 or email me at rickrod@insightbb.com.
